The WYS line aims to raise awareness for various medical related issues, such as body dysmorphia and the post-operative process. This jewelry line represents STRENGTH, which is a term that is subjective to each individual.
Each piece of jewelry has the unique meaning that you give it.
About the Creator
After an extensive medical journey, including multiple reconstructive hip surgeries, Colette Cipriano decided to start Colette's Creations LLC to create the Wear Your Strength jewelry line. Each peice is meant to represent, honor, and give strength to people like herself. Colette had a total of eight, seven inch medical screws holding her pelvis in place for over one year. When it was time to have the screws removed, she knew she was not done with them yet. With the help of her local jewelers, she was able to create a necklace and ring out of her very own screws that held her hips together.
The strength Colette feels now while wearing these pieces, combined with the lack of knowledge and representation of medical implants in everyday life, is what propelled her to create WYS. She has created something beautiful and meaningful out of lifesaving devices that are usually discarded.
